24th/25th June 2011 - Black Sheep are heading for Connemara to tackle the 12 Bens
We aim to do the twelve bens over the two days. Liam has provided a map showing the two proposed routes The route marked AA is about 12.5 km with a height gain of approximately 1,600m. The start and finish are 3 km apart which can be walked and provides a nice warm up. The route BB is 13.5 km with about 1,400m of height gain there is an option to make this into a circuit which would make it 16.5 km. These are just suggestions the routes can be shortened and peaks added or removed. ( I personally would like to ensure we do all twelve bens during the two days and include a bit of scrambling if we can )

How do you make this virtual route?
ReplyDeleteHowdy, my email address is ray@xtech.ie
ReplyDeleteit was a couple of years ago i gtot software from http://www.geolives.com/index.php#
I had to buy irish maps from them
once you have these you can plot your route and view in 3d, also create a file to load onto your garmin , make videos like one above. Maps were a little pricey if you need a lott of them. It was the OSI who put me onto them in 1st place
It was great at the time but they seem to have a new web site all in french, that was a bit aof a problem before as well when it came to support (un;less you can speak french)
Any questions email me direct
Cheers
Happy walking
Ray
